Harvey Hits # 1 review

The second of the new Casper books we'll see this year,  Published by joe books and loosely  based in the Harvey series of the same name that every month featured different characters, This books attempts to put in the same book as many Harvey characters and Artists as  possible and it totally success,
First the mix of different  styles from several artists is interesting and fresh, its pretty nice to see the Classic Harvey characters drawn in so many styles, (art baltazar  known for his work on tiny titans is the most well known artist)talking about that this book Includes most of the beloved harvey pantheon, but some of them have very small roles, this issue focusses on Wendy, Casper, Hot stuff and Richie rich, each of them got  short storie of their own.
Here is when the main issue comes, Space, For example the participation of Little Dot in this comics is reduced to a one-page story, also Baby Huey suffers the same problem, having appeared in only two pages, the second issue is that some characters Mainly Hot Stuff feel a little out of character. but it will give them some  point since they didn't include reprints of old comics.
But overall this series is a great Homage to the Classic Harvey Comics, every one that Grew up with the beloved characters will enjoy it,

My veredict:

8.6/10

Casper the Friendly ghost #1 review

I am proud to Write the first and only review of this comic on the whole internet, Fist It wasn't easy to get a copy of this book since I dont live in Usa, but lets start with the review.

As everybody knows Havey comics went out of business in 1994 since then a few comic publishers occacionally publish comics with thier characerst, Marvel comics and Dark House are good examples but now, American mythology productios is the resonsable for this new series,  this project was assigned to old casper fans, so basically the comics its made by Nostalgiatartds to Nostalgiatads, in other words people who grew up with classica Harvey characters and aren't very found of new casper incarnations like Casper's scare school, which is a wise move since Casper's scare school was very unpopular and the comics based on it sold poorly.

Actually I am very happy with the concept behing the comic, since I brings back Hot stuff the little devil, my favorite casper character,  and the Artist worked hard to Reproduce the classic Harvey comics art style, in fact the comic totally feels like an Old Harvey book,  the art and stories are fun,

The comic includes   two new Stories, Friends from far away: A story with Casper  making new alien friends and Ice cream:  the typical storie with hot stuff being bullied by big fat ogres, they are pretty fun to read  and they will be enjoyed by any fan of the classic characters,  but the book's main weakness its the lack of new contenent, Dont get me wrong, over 50% of the books are reprints of  old comic books, they are not even recolored, it totally feels like they needed to fill the pages of the comic book with something,

Even when American mythology productions's website states there is a new Wendy story in the book,  it just isn't true, "Friends from far away" and Ice cream are the only new stories.I have nothing against including old reprinted stories, but the thing is that most of the book is recicled material,  it  turn the book into is a missed opportunity to write  more new  stories, plus  all the stories are material that Harvey already reprinted and recolored back in the 90's, I would have been nice to recolor different stories at least, the ones harvey didn't.

Also they could work on bigger and more complex stories, Harvey ocassionally put some better written adventures, For example "Hot stuff and the time machine" and "invader from mars" prove they characters can be used for more than just their usual roles, Also including several characters in the same story would be nice.

In short the new stories are enjoyable, funny and Nostalgic, also the covers are nice but there is very few  new material in the book, the "Re-reprinted" stories fill most of the book.

My veredict:  7.2/10.

Hot Stuff the little devil in "The Blot"

As I said I will   post scans of the Classic harvey comics, So even the future Generations will enjoy this stories and the the legacy of casper will never forgotten...   This time I will put a Hot stuff story, since he is my favorite character... I know What you think... Another Hot stuff comic? The previous scan "invaders of mars"  was actually a spooky story, even if Hot stuff was in it.
Being banished to the moon isn't as bad as you think, since Hot stuff can actually survive in outer space, its more like the devilish version of bieng sent to yout room.

Yes, you are right, the Blot is the name of this supervillain, with a name like that you can inject the fear directly to the heart of your enemies.

As you can see cops are really useless as usual in the comics, even againts a villain as lame as the Blot.

If you are wonndering: ,Why is this villain wearing a diaper too?.... funny fact in the comics the diapers are just a form of funny sensorship, for exaple devils were clasically portrayed naked so harvey put diapers on them.

Wow,  Guns in a comic for Children... not even the superhero cartoon on tv depict real Guns, does someone remember the laser pistols in the  spiderman cartoon series?

AS its well known by exorcists,  devils can't be hurt by bullets  to the face, even high voltage doesnt work, but   water is a different story.

How the hell The blot's powers work? he was totally evaporated not only he was totally intact, but he even got new superpowers.

Ok A lame supervillan deservas a lame ending he is not match for our favorite little devil,  However  I am real curious about the way the blot got his power I bet he is either mutant or part of a experiment or even is radition involved.

This sucks....

I just confirmed  the new Casper comic published by american mythology was delayed Due to some copyright issues, yes this info was reveled to me directrly from the editors via  facebook, so officially there is not a release date yet.....
At least the artist confirmed to me that Spooky the tuff little ghost will be in the book, anyway meanwhile  I am going to post more scans of the classic Harvey comis..

News on The upcoming Casper comic books.

There is a little info about the Casper comic book published by American mythology, and finally they confirmed the release date; Its May 24th, I am pretty Hyped for this comic since the Writer loves Hot stuff as Much as I do, First I will show you the alternative covers:

Here is interview With Mike wolfer, the Writer of this upcoming Book:

Vince Brusio: So as you both have been tapped to bring an all-ages Casper book to the market, what's your personal connection to the friendly ghost? What are your childhood memories of those classic cartoons? Were you also squeezing them in before that daily morning trip to the school bus?

Mike Wolfer: As a kid, I always enjoyed Hot Stuff more than any of the other classic Harvey characters, but just in comics form- He's one of the few Harvey characters who never appeared in the early TV cartoons, much to my disappointment. I was always the shy, quiet type, the kind of kid who got pushed around and just wanted to be left alone. I suppose I was drawn to Hot Stuff because I wanted to be like him — a little guy who doesn't care what anyone else thinks, and a hothead who stands up for himself no matter the size of the bully picking on him. Despite the fact that he's just a little demon in a diaper, he's a scrappy little guy who doesn't take any crap from anyone as he stumbles upon adventure after adventure, which usually occurs while he's minding his own business. Naturally, when American Mythology told me that they had obtained the license for "Casper the Friendly Ghost," my first response was, "Please tell me that it includes Hot Stuff!"
S.A. Check: It's all about those Saturday mornings. Those few hours every week when it was kind of a universal rule that kids ruled the remote, even if it was only three or four channels back then. Casper was always in that mix. I think there's a window in all of our lives that a character like Casper plays a part in our childhood. Cartoons weren't available 24/7, so you had to grab them when you could. What was great about Casper is that each episode was entirely self-contained. You didn't need to know any back story. There were no epic twelve-part Casper sagas, just great storytelling meant solely to entertain. Cutting edge is great and there are some awesome comics and cartoons out there for kids today to consume, but it's nice to offer an alternative. Something to take solely on the face value of having fun.
Vince Brusio: Old school fans will, of course, look to relive memories of yesterday when they see a new Casper book at the comic shop. Tell us: how did you approach writing this title to maintain a classic Harvey-style story so that nostalgia buffs are rewarded? Were artists John Gallagher, Bill Galvan, and Diego Jourdan essential in this heavy lifting?
S.A. Check: Right from the start, American Mythology was clear with how they wanted to approach the book, and that was to stay true to form. There really hasn't been a true classic take on Casper in comics since, I believe, the eighties, and we definitely went with the "if it ain't broken" ideology with the comics. When I went back and revisited some of the classic comics, and even more so, the classic cartoons, I was really taken back with the subtle beauty of them. There were no shortcuts taken on the animation, fully rendered backgrounds, and seamless storytelling. We're trying to catch some of that same magic to keep classic fans happy, but bring in the next generation of readers. Our artists on Casper are consummate professionals. They know these characters inside and out, and just like the nuances in storytelling that can make all the difference for fans, the art on such beloved titles is downright crucial. I worked with John and Bill on The Three Stooges and Pink Panther previously, and knew they would elevate any story that they worked on to a whole new level. Bill and I discussed our story for the first issue, and I think our styles — my writing and his art — complement each other well, and we're proud of the final product. I've seen Diego's work for the upcoming issue, and fans, both old and new, will love what he's bringing.
Mike Wolfer: My approach to writing Hot Stuff is the same as my approach to The Land That Time Forgot. Both franchises are still around after decades and decades for a reason: The formula works, so don't mess with it. I'm all for innovation, but not with someone else's property. In my view, you can be innovative with the stories, but the characters themselves and their core personalities and values should remain untouched. With that in mind, my Hot Stuff stories take place in a nebulous time; they're not in the past (1950s) or present (21st century), they're set in whatever year it is in the Enchanted Forest, the fantasy world where Hot Stuff lives. There is some modern technology there, but not decade-specific, so my stories could be read either in the 1960s or today. And they can be read in another 50 years and no one will say, "Oh, boy, look at that outdated technology. 'Cell phones? Haha! Remember those?'" Really, my number one priority with Hot Stuff is, "Make it silly." You can't go wrong there!

Vince Brusio: Were any previous stories from the cartoons, comics, or long-playing records examined for possible inclusion of future storylines?

Mike Wolfer: The first thing that I did when I accepted the writing assignment was go online and order a bunch of Hot Stuff comics from the '50s, '60s, and '70s. I didn't want my writing to be based on my recollections of the characters — I wanted to be as loyal to the source material as possible, and to replicate the original feel of those classics. I was really pleasantly surprised by them, too. I figured that after 40 years, those "kids" comics might be tough to get through, considering my grown-up, mature tastes. But they were incredibly fun to read, and I picked up a bunch of small personality tidbits and story devices that I didn't remember, or was unaware of when I was a regular reader back in the mid-1960s. Needless to say, I'm placing another order for back issues, because I'm hooked all over again.
S.A. Check: I don't know that any specific stories will resurface in the new comics, but we're definitely taking inspiration from where the characters have been as we look ahead to their future.

Vince Brusio: What supporting characters will be brought into the book? Will these characters be all the old school familiar faces?

Mike Wolfer: Hot Stuff had a few supporting characters that made occasional appearances, but they were very minor. The stories mostly focused on Hot Stuff himself, and only once in a while did we see his extended family, but I do make small references to those characters. One major character who we will see is Wendy, the Good Little Witch, who appears in my story "She Scares Me Not," in Casper the Friendly Ghost #2. There's another major face in that story as well, but we don't want to give everything away!
S.A. Check: American Mythology has a full roster of Casper's friends to bring back to fans. Besides Hot Stuff and Wendy, fans can expect to see the Ghostly Trio, Spooky, and Nightmare making appearances in future books in all their original glory! These are the characters we love, and it's the classic rendition we want to bring back to fans. It's the same approach American Mythology has taken with other comics – staying true to the content and renditions that made the characters such cultural icons in the first place. The response we've received from fans has been extremely positive, so I think we're doing something right.

Vince Brusio: What is it about Casper that you think will appeal to today's younger readers? And what messages do you want him to champion for young kids who have their own phones and grew up with the Internet?

S.A. Check: Casper is a very pure character, and at his heart, he just wants to be a part of something larger, to be accepted. I think the concept of inclusion is probably more relevant in today's society than it has ever been. He's the outsider, looking for his place in the world, sometimes a world that can seem pretty scary, even to a ghost. What kid can't relate to that? I think one thing Casper shows is that the same problems that kids have faced for the last seventy plus years are still pretty much the same, just packaged with a prettier bow. Peer pressure, insecurity, finding your own path, are difficulties we have all faced, and knowing that you're not alone in that can help reassure younger readers. It's much harder for kids to separate and escape from those pressures in today's digital world, being a click away from it all on social media. Those tiny moments of escapism that comics provide, allow young readers to take a break from the fast-paced world we live in and just enjoy the adventures of a certain friendly ghost and a few of his friends. And maybe, just maybe, they'll find something in those pages they can relate to and bring a smile to their face.

Mike Wolfer: That's a tough one to answer, with regard to Hot Stuff. He's not like Casper, whose agenda is to be kind and friendly to everyone. Hot Stuff is more of a rogue, whose goal in life seems to be to take as many naps as possible and eat as many of his favorite berries as he can. But if there's a positive message that we can get from him, it would be to stand your ground and stick up for yourself. And take as many naps and eat as many berries as you can!

Casper the friendl ghost is back!

After a long ausence for the comics, and a big failure with the Casper's scare school Books, The friendly ghost will make his glorious return to Comic boks, with not only one but 2 new comic books, this is an important step for our beloved Ghost, An evidence that Casper isn't a Dead franchice, These new projects are mainly targeted to old school casper fans, so the Caspers scare school characters aren't going to be part of this, sorry CSS fans.
But lest talk about the upcoming casper books:

1.- Casper the friendly ghost

This will be a reboot featuring Caspe and his friends Hot stuff the little devil and Wendy the little good witch, published by American Mithology comics, this  books resembles pretty much the old good days from Harvey comics, So the modern version of Hot stuff and Wendy won't appear in this book,  the art is pretty similar to the original style from harvey, I am hyped about this one, but  We will need to wait until april to Enjoy this new series.

2,- Harvey hits

This is a little different from the comic book above,  also targeted to Classic casper fans and published by Joe books, Harvey Hits will include most of Harvey beloved character including Casper, Wendy, Spooky, Hot stuff, Richi rich, Big lotta, Little dot, etc, but with brand new art from Art baltazart, Know for his cute Style from books such as Tiny Titans and Itty bitty Hellboy, Personally I like Baltazar's style,  If you are looking for a funny story with cute fan art this book is for you.

Character of the month Spooky the tuff little ghost.

I know I dont't post a character every month, but I don't care just realised I posted a comic with hot stuff and spooky but I never introduced the latter..... some people (mainly casper's scare school fans) may be wondering Who the hell is this character? is this another casper ripoff? So I decided to write a post about him...
Spooky is casper's michievous cousin that actually likes to scare humas, which makes him pretty much casper's opposite, pretty much what woulf happen if Hot stuff and casper had a baby with a brooklin accent.
But actually Spooky is one of the oldest characters in casper franchice in fact he has been arround nearly the same time than the ghostly trio,  spooky  debuted in casper the friendly ghost #10 in 1953,,
Afteer a pair of years appearing in casper comics Harvey decided spooky was popular enough to star his own comic:

Spooky in the new adventures of casper
Spooky also apeared in a lot of casper media, he appeared in some of the best episodes of the original casper show,  april's fool  episode from that show,  is one of the most memorable spooky appearences, Spooky also was one of the main characters in the 90's hit series; the spooktacular new aventures of casper,, despite being auscent in the movie which this cartoon is based on he became one of the funniest characters of the show, later he appearend in casper's haunted christmas His last appearence was as a minor character in the comic book "casper and the spectrals" from 2010.

I must admit the little rascal is one of my favorite characters in casper franchice, he is mean, mischevous, loves to scare humans and he always gets into funny situations, but the best part of the character is his relationship with  his girlfriend known as pearl aka poil their character interaction is one of the funniest and wackiest in casper series ... Sure they had a ton of couple problems, even  spooky  tried date other girls, but  in the end they make a really good pairing.
Name; Spooky
Species; Ghost
Powers and abilities: Flight, invisibility, intangibility, shape-shiffting, super scream.
First appearance: casper the friendly ghost #10 (1953)

Spooky and Hot stuff in "A menace from mars"

Today I will do  something different, I will post a scan of a classic comic book of the havey characters, this is a good oportunity to post a story starring  two  of my favorite characters in casper franchise, Hot stuff the little devil and spooky tha tuff little ghost (casper's cousin).

Spooky was lucky he is ghost,  otherwise that giant iceberge from outer space would have killed him, I mean look at the size of that crater,

KIds dont do this, when an UFO from outer space lands  over your head, pressing  the red buttons is never a good idea

I know the comics are old, but did really people think aliens looked  like that? the first one is just a dude wearing a viking helmet, well the second one is a bit less patetic, but it looks lile the typical ogres from harvey comics.

wait, aren't ghost uncorporeal? How can they be frozen by an ordinary alien weapon designed for mundane beings? Nobody knows, but the biggest mystery, is the "boo" being turned to crystals What kind of avanced technology is that?

Wait Is pearl using a plant as a phone?  Forget about alien technology! the enchanted forest has way more advanced stuff.

Blasting those aliens to mars sure puts spooky on superman's power level, but I am more suprised of how Ghost are able to eat.. I mean they have not organs to digest food, also at least Hot stuff and charma can make babies, but I am not so sure about spooky and pearl, anyway the last panel is a really cute escene of "puppy love".

Top Casper the friendly ghost ripoffs

Casper may be an obscure character nowadays, mainly because the  failure of the latest attemps of bringing the character to new audiences (casper's scare school wasn't popular at all) but back in the day casper was one of the most popular cartoon characters ever In fact he was the second most recognizable  cartoon character, only surpassed by Micky mouse, so its not strange that some people tried to jump in the wagon of casper's popularity.....
These are my favorite casper copycats...

4.- Timmy the timid ghost

Created in 1956 as an attemp to milk casper's popularity,  timmy was a ghost with...  a timid personality, yes the writeres werent original even at naming thiir ripoff, timmy looked like casper if if was a cartoon form the 30's, this copycats was one of first characters that tried to copy casper and one of the most successful since this comic book series ran from 1956 to 1971.

3.-Super spook

From  Ajax comics,  also known as Mighty ghost, the series follows the adventures of a ghost boy with superpowers. it is basically what would happen if superman and casper had a baby, this series only ran for a few issues before ajax created an even more original characters that will appear next on the list.

2.- Spunky the smiling spook

Published  by the same original autors behind Super pook, spunky is casper's lost twin brother, a little friendly ghost, just like casper, even they look so alike, if someone removes the titile I could mistake this book for a casper comic, but unlike casper spunky had a little more mischievous personality,  which resembles Spooky, caspers cousin wih a suspecius similar name,

1.- Homer the happy Ghost.

So far we have seen many shameless ripoffs, so maybe you wonder... how can anyone beat spunky? Obviously you never heard of Homer the Happy ghost, it was a really special cause since it was created by Atlas comic nowadays  known as Marvel comics, even the Legenday Stan lee wrote most of its stories, So I am sure he would become a member of the avengers in the marvel cinemetic universe, ok that is not likely, but Homer beats Spunky because even he has His own version of Spooky, renamed Dungan the dead end Ghost (see the picture above)

Character of the month: Thatch the vampire

Happy halloween,  after talking about classic characters I think its time for something different, a Character which isn't part of the original cannon, but became really popular among the fans of the lastest casper's animated series, especially among girls, Of course I mean Thatch the vampire he is like a fangirl magnet.

Thatch debuted in the movie Casper's scare school in 2006, despite being much  less popular than other casper movies,   introduced a lot of new characters for a new generations of casper fans, well it is a reboot tageted to an public   that never read the otiginal casper comics, and I pretty sure thatch is the most popular Casper's scare school character  since he stars most of css fanart and fiction.

In the movie the vampire  is introduced as the big man at school, the schoool bully and alder and dash's right hand, Thatch casper's opposite  mean, unfriendly, arrogant he acts like the main antagonist of the film and casper's rival, manly because the vampire  hates casper's friendly personality and tried to get casper expelled, from scare school,

In the TV series he is the leader of his own gang that is always looking for trouble, but he also has different roles, sometimes he helps casper but most of the time he acts like a jerk, especially in the second season where the writers made him the main villain, he made some of the most evil things we have seen in the franchise, very sadly for his fans that wanted him to be a good guy, yeah troll writers!!

He is basically the "Draco malfoy" of casper franchise,  that isn't someting bad since I have to admit he was one of funniest character of the series, always gettting into hilarious situations like kissing a frog, being kicked by mickey  and he also kissed the sea monster of scare school, it is important to say most of the fanfiction writers use him as main character in their stories and  love to pair him with their oc's , He is one of the few CSS character that brought sometime new to the table, this is the first time casper has a rival, and that makes him an interesting addition to the franchise, although CSS was cancelled, seeing  thatch again It would be interensting.

Name: Thatch
Species: vampire
Powers: , bat form (flight)
First appareance: Casper's scare school. (2006)

Download The spookatcular new aventures of casper

Now I finally updated all the Scare school episodes to the blog, but I don't know how to make the blog more popular,so  I am going to update episodes of one of my favorite casper cartoons: The spooktacular new aventures of casper, this show was created in the 90's as an spinoff of the first casper movie, (which is in my opinion the best casper media after casper and the spectrals) the series has a funnier tone than previus casper cartoons, mainly because the character break the fourth wall pretty often, it is kinda similar to series such as  animatiacs, More episodes soon.

quality: 240p

Character of the month: Hot stuff the little devil

This is the turn of my favorite character of casper franchise, hot stuff the mischievous little demon,  In 1957 After the great success of casper the friendly ghost and Wendy the little good witch, Harvey comics decided to create another characteer based on children's fears and make it harmless and funny, usually all the small children are afraid of the devil, just like ghost and witches, this time  the center of attention was a devil kid named Hot stuff,  A popular theory implies that Hot Stuff was created using Evil casper from the cartoon "fright from wrong" 1957 as main inspiration, which makes him casper's antithesis.

Unlike Casper and wendy which are friendly characters Hot stuff was imbued with a michevous personality, As with all Harvey kid characters, most of the “bad” characters are merely mischievous at heart, and usually have good intentions, despite being a little bit rascally. Harvey had such high hopes for Hot Stuff, so much so that it didn't even debut as a supporting feature or in the Harvey Hits tryout series before going to its own series. It turned out to be a wise choice since Hot Stuff ranks as one of the most popular characters to come out of Harvey after Casper and Richie Rich, Hot stuff debuted in octuber of 1957 just in time for halloween.

Hot Stuff was originally the only recurrent character of his comics, but soon new faces were added to his supporting charactes; Aunt clinker, Grandpa blaze, Cousing demon: (Hot stuff's stupid cousin), and Charma the fairy princess, character that serves as hot stuff's girlfriend,  she is just decribed as hot stuff's main love interest actually  in the future Hot stuff became an adult and married her.

A devil and a fairy I am curious about how they children would look

Despite living in the same universe than Wendy and Casper Hot stuff  hags out with them just ocasionally, Some fans think he is a toddler because he wears a diaper but actually even adult devils wear diapers in his comics, and he in the same age than casper.
All the devils wear diapers, strange isnt?

Hot Stuff has retained a relatively low profile over the years, compared to other Harvey characters. This is primarily due to the fact that he has never appeared in an animated film, nor has he appeared on a great deal of merchandise. An animated series was attempted in the 60s and again in the 70s, but it was cancelled because a series with a devil as main character was considered too dark for kids, but the character's nature  have unfortunately kept him off the airwaves, , he only appearead in comic books and a small/decent  amount of merchandise,

Punk suits hot stuff really well
In 2009 He reappeared along with wendy and Casper  in the modern reboot of the series titled "casper and the spectrals" which had a darker tone than the old comics, However in casper and the espectrals Hot Stuff has taken on more of a punk kid look visually, so he wears a more casual outfit a black t-shirt, blue jeans, and a spike bracelet but He is the same mischevous devil kid from the old havey comics, but this time we were able to meet his family also he was rewritten as the son of the ruler of deviland the realm of the demons in the underworld, actually this is the first hot stuff version I met, and I really liked this little rascal.

Hot stuff also made a small cameo in the simpsons, in the episode "Treehouse of horror XXV" he appears as one of the demons trapped in super hell.

But we can be sure this won't be his last appeareance outside from comics, since recently Dreamworks, company that owns the rights of all the harvey characters including casper and hot stuff, announced they are working on a Hot stuff movie.

Name: Hot stuff
Species: Devil / fire demon
First appearance: Hot stuff the little devil (1957)
Powers and abilities:  Flight, invisibility, fire manipulation, intangiblity, fire inmunity, teleportation, super speed,  control of body temperature, minor forms of magic, fire-dependent regenerative healing factor, flame breath.

Dowload Casper's scare school issue 2

Well this is the turn of the second and last comic  of casper scare school, sadly after this issue the next  book was delayed forever and eventually the series was cancelled, mainly because the low sales of the previous books, Ape comics worked in a paperback editon with all the 4 comic books but it was cancelled too. Sadly casper used to be an icon in the comic book medium, and his books  used to sold millons of units, but Casper is not that popular these days, and sadly CSS is not liked by most of the old fans, casper and the spectrals sold a better and  at least we could read the end of the story (but a regular series would have been awesome) Anyway this issue is really good and features one of my favorite characters from the CSS universe: Jackyie hyde.

Download Casper's scare school comic Issue 1

Casper's scare school is a Comic book series published by Ape comics in 2010 based on the cartoon of the same name, it faatures brand new 2d art and also it wasn't written by the same people than the series so it has some diferencies for example Wolfie is a member of casper's gang in this stories. yes I said stories because the comic features 4 short stories, two based on casper's scare school and others that basically are recolours of the old casper stories made by Harvey comics. The series was supposed to have 4 issues but sadly it was cancelled after the second comic book and the other issues never were released.

Here is the first issue:
Format: Pdf
Size: 15 MB

Casper's scare school issue 1

Featured Character: Casper the friendly ghost

I will use this season to talk about the characters of casper franchise, and I will start with caper because he is the main character.... Duh, The objetive is this section is learning more about the characters and introducing new ones.

Casper was created in the 30′s by seymour reit as a character that was supposed  to appear in a book series, however the author sold the character to paramount that  started to produce animated shorts about the character, starting with “there is a good boos tonight” that was a big success, a ghost that was afraid of being scary was a really original idea, and kids loved it.
A ghost that disliked  to scare humans and prefered making friends, sadly for casper his undead condition doesn't make him exactly popular among people, animals, and even he was rejected byhis fellow ghosts for being so friendly,  Casper was something new a monster that usually scares children turned into a loveable cartoon character later Havey comics   repeated the same formula by created Wendy the little whitch and Hot stuff the little devil, which are also characters based of the fears of childhood (whitch and devil respectively).

The character was incredible popular, so Harvey comics started to publish a comic book series with the friendly ghosts as main character, later they bought the characters and created most of his supporting characters such as wendy, ghostly trio, spooky, Hot stuff the little devil, nightmare and a big ect.
Originally casper was supposed to be a dead child in his first apparence but alfred harvey, editor of harvey comics, thought this idea as too dark for a character targeted to young audiences, so officially they changed his backstory, ghost  are just magical creatures unrelated to humans in most of his comics,

The comics succefully increased casper's popularity,  then Harvey bought the rights of the character and started to make a new casper cartoon in 1957,  the friendly ghost became so popular  that in some moment in the 60´s he was the second more popular cartoon only after mickey mouse.
Casper appeared in a movie trilogy in the 90′s that also was used as inspiration for  an animated spin-off, title the spooktacular new aventures of casper,  that was  big success, however Havey comics got bankrupt in 1995 and casper populary went downhill since then,  casper’s scare school and Casper and the spectrals were his last appearances, but dreamworks bought casper and the harvey characters in 2012 so casper will make his comeback, we just need to wait.

Name: Casper
Species: Ghost
First appareance: There is goof boos tonight
Powers: flight, invisibility, intangibility, shape shiffitng.

Casper and the Spectrals

If you don't know what casper and the spectrals is, let me tell you something : it is the best installment of the whole franchise,  not only  darker and edgier than other versions but also features  other popular harvey characters such as Wendy the little witch and Hot stuff the litttle devil that are fan favorites in a new and action-packed story, I never heard about Hot stuff before but thanks to this comic he became my favorite character of casper franchise,
