I am proud to Write the first and only review of this comic on the whole internet, Fist It wasn't easy to get a copy of this book since I dont live in Usa, but lets start with the review.
As everybody knows Havey comics went out of business in 1994 since then a few comic publishers occacionally publish comics with thier characerst, Marvel comics and Dark House are good examples but now, American mythology productios is the resonsable for this new series, this project was assigned to old casper fans, so basically the comics its made by Nostalgiatartds to Nostalgiatads, in other words people who grew up with classica Harvey characters and aren't very found of new casper incarnations like Casper's scare school, which is a wise move since Casper's scare school was very unpopular and the comics based on it sold poorly.
Actually I am very happy with the concept behing the comic, since I brings back Hot stuff the little devil, my favorite casper character, and the Artist worked hard to Reproduce the classic Harvey comics art style, in fact the comic totally feels like an Old Harvey book, the art and stories are fun,
The comic includes two new Stories, Friends from far away: A story with Casper making new alien friends and Ice cream: the typical storie with hot stuff being bullied by big fat ogres, they are pretty fun to read and they will be enjoyed by any fan of the classic characters, but the book's main weakness its the lack of new contenent, Dont get me wrong, over 50% of the books are reprints of old comic books, they are not even recolored, it totally feels like they needed to fill the pages of the comic book with something,
Even when American mythology productions's website states there is a new Wendy story in the book, it just isn't true, "Friends from far away" and Ice cream are the only new stories.I have nothing against including old reprinted stories, but the thing is that most of the book is recicled material, it turn the book into is a missed opportunity to write more new stories, plus all the stories are material that Harvey already reprinted and recolored back in the 90's, I would have been nice to recolor different stories at least, the ones harvey didn't.
Also they could work on bigger and more complex stories, Harvey ocassionally put some better written adventures, For example "Hot stuff and the time machine" and "invader from mars" prove they characters can be used for more than just their usual roles, Also including several characters in the same story would be nice.
In short the new stories are enjoyable, funny and Nostalgic, also the covers are nice but there is very few new material in the book, the "Re-reprinted" stories fill most of the book.
My veredict: 7.2/10.
